The
Maderia Tin Project
The Madeira Tin and Sewing Set is designed to feature the lovely
sampler fabric and tin from Moda’s Madeira collection by Blackbird Designs. Motifs inspired by the sampler fabric are
featured on the pinkeep/needlebook and biscornu. The scissors fob and ditty bag were originally designed to be sewn
from the strips in the jelly roll of fabric that was sold with the tin when the
fabric line was first released (a jelly roll will not be included in the tin for
this class). I will have scraps of my
jelly roll available if you would like to make these items.& nbsp; A sewing machine is best to make
these. There is a color photo of the
sampler that can be mounted in the window of the tin. Lakeside 32 count linen is supplied in the
kit as well as 3 colors of Gloriana silk floss and silk ribbon and the fabric to
line the tin and the accessories.
A design for a tote bag is included in the
instructions, but will not be covered in class.
You will need to purchase additional fabric from a quilt shop to make the
bag. (9 jelly roll strips (2 1/2” wide x
width of fabric), 1 yard of sampler fabric and 1 yard of your favorite print for
lining and handles, plus batting) To
make the bag you need machine sewing skills.
